Two Hunters Found Deceased in Colorado, But Another Washington Case Remains a Mystery. What Are Officials Hiding?
In a tragic turn of events last week, the families of Andrew Porter and Ian Stasko received devastating news. The two young men, who went missing while hunting in the Colorado mountains, were found deceased, their deaths attributed to a lightning strike. My deepest condolences go out to their loved ones.
The swift resolution of this case stands in stark contrast to another baffling incident I've been following closely—one with far more questions than answers. Last December, two men vanished in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. They were later found deceased, but unlike the Colorado case, a cloud of secrecy continues to surround their deaths.
The Skamania County Sheriff's Office stated the men, ages 37 and 59, likely succumbed to exposure. Yet, nearly a year later, crucial details remain sealed. We don’t know their names. No autopsy results have been released. In a week, we knew what happened to the men in Colorado, but what about the "Bigfooter's" in Washington? Why the silence?
Here's what we've pieced together:
The men were from the Portland, Oregon area.
Their relationship is unknown, but they may have been co-workers at FedEx.
They parked their vehicle near an old, well-defined logging trail.
Despite their interest in Sasquatch, no one in the Bigfoot community seems to know who they were.
Recently, while researching the area with Salish Sasquatch, we ventured to the site where the men perished, guided by a local resident Virgil Sampson with new information for the community. Salish Sasquatch is sharing the video on their YouTube channel to help shed light on this case.
I’ve personally spent many hours in the last few weeks digging for answers, scouring online records and obituaries for men matching their ages from the Portland area, but the lack of key information makes the search nearly impossible.
The official statement of "exposure" raises more questions than it answers. What forced them to cross a flooding creek in the dead of winter? My personal opinion is that something terrified them, forcing them to run for their lives. While bears would be hibernating and a cougar is unlikely to attack two men, what else is out there?
A coroner’s report could provide critical clues: Were there other injuries? What do the toxicology reports say about their adrenaline levels? A high concentration could indicate intense fear—a fight or flight response.
Something extraordinary and terrifying happened in the Gifford Pinchot Forest that day, and the community—and the families of these men—deserve answers. I won’t stop searching. I’m reaching out to a news reporter in the Portland area with an interest in Sasquatch, hoping to bring more attention to this case. I will report back with any new information. The truth may be hidden from us, but it won't be forgotten. Out there between the trees are the questions and the answers...
